Covenant Christian School champions the role of Christian parents as those most responsible for the training and education of their children. The school board employs qualified Christian teachers to assist parents with this responsibility. Spiritual Emphasis

Covenant Christian School is a non-denominational school that promotes the following educational Biblical beliefs:

  • The Bible is the foundation for proper understanding of all academic disciplines.  Colossians 1:19

  • All education should reveal God in His works of creation and providence.  Job 12: 7-10; Matthew 6: 26-32

  • Growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God, Bible study, prayer, and service.  2 Peter 1:10

  • Such consciousness of God in teaching is imperative to the proper intellectual and moral development of children.  2 Peter 2: 6; Psalms 119: 130.

  • Students need to learn their present civic responsibility and prepare for adult citizenship with the understanding that government is ordained by God.  Romans 13: 1, 2, 4

  • Students are expected to show courtesy, respect, manners and a proper attitude toward others.  Ephesians 4:32

Academic Emphasis

Common Core:  Covenant Christian School has NOT adopted the Common Core standards. Each grade is evaluated to ensure that CCS meets or exceeds state and parent expectations. CCS is confident in our current curricula and will gladly address any questions concerning our guidelines.

Curriculum

At Covenant Christian School, we are committed to providing an exceptional academic foundation grounded in Christian values. For our elementary curriculum in reading, phonics, spelling, and language, we proudly utilize the ABEKA program. Renowned for its rigorous and effective approach, ABEKA combines traditional educational techniques with a biblical worldview, ensuring that our students not only excel academically but also grow spiritually. Through engaging and structured lessons, ABEKA equips our students with essential literacy skills, fostering a lifelong love for learning and a deep appreciation for God's Word. We strive to provide a comprehensive and robust education that nurtures both the mind and spirit. For our elementary mathematics curriculum, we have chosen Math in Focus. This program, based on the highly effective Singapore Math approach, emphasizes problem-solving and critical thinking skills, ensuring students build a strong mathematical foundation. Math in Focus offers a deep understanding of concepts through a focused and coherent progression, enabling our students to achieve mastery and confidence in math. By integrating faith with learning, we ensure that our students not only excel academically but also grow in their understanding of God's orderly and logical creation.

Our commitment to providing a high-quality, faith-based education extends to every subject, including history. For our history curriculum, we have chosen Bob Jones Heritage Studies. This comprehensive program offers a thorough exploration of historical events and cultures through a biblical lens, helping students understand the past in the context of God's providence and purpose. Bob Jones Heritage Studies combines engaging narratives, critical thinking exercises, and interactive activities to bring history to life, fostering a deep appreciation for the lessons of history and the workings of God's hand throughout time. Our students learn to see history through the eyes of faith, gaining insights that shape their understanding of the world and their place in God's plan.

We believe that science education should inspire wonder and curiosity while grounding students in a biblical worldview. That's why we have chosen Purposeful Design for our science curriculum. This program seamlessly integrates rigorous scientific concepts with the recognition of God's handiwork in creation. Purposeful Design encourages hands-on learning, critical thinking, and exploration, helping students to understand the intricacies of God's world. By linking scientific principles with faith, our students not only gain knowledge but also develop a deep appreciation for the Creator. Purposeful Design nurtures young minds to explore, discover, and marvel at the wonders of science through the lens of faith.
